Develop new skills. Soar to great heights.  Being a Cub opens up a whole other world.

 

cubs circleCubs Scouts are young people aged 8 – 10 ½ years old. This section of the Scouting family is inspired by Rudyard Kipling’s The Jungle Book.

A group of Cub Scouts is called a Pack.

Within the Cub Pack there are smaller groups of cubs called Sixes.
Each Six has a cub leader called a Sixer and a deputy called a Seconder.
Sixers and Seconders help the adult volunteer leaders to run the pack.

Traditionally, the adult leaders are given names from The Jungle Book, the leader in charge is usually called Akela

 

 

Cubs provides Adventure, Fun, Friendship, Skills for Life and much more.

 

Take part in weekly programmes, trips out and camps; attend events with the pack, district or county.

Investiture

An Investiture is a ceremony which takes place to welcome a new member into the Cub Pack and the World-wide family of Scouts.

During the investiture, the young person will make their Scout promise.

There are different versions of The Scout Promise, the young person can choose the wording which is best for them.

think of others before themselves

and

do a good turn every day.

 

 

Badges and Awards

The Chief Scouts Silver Award is the highest award a Cub can achieve.

To complete it, you need to earn six Activity or Staged Activity Badges of your choice, as well as all seven of the Challenge Awards.
