@praguescouts Beavers learned how to take a good photos! 🥸We went for a walk to take a lots of photos. Beavers were very polite that asking permissions when they took photos of the people and owner of the dog. After the walk Beavers presented their favorite photo to the group and proudly explained the reason why they took them. We also learned how we could take a good photos using professional camera. We had lots of fun!🥳 Beavers are the photographer now.🤩

Fuengirola Cubs and Beavers finished off the term celebrating the achievements of young people who have achieved the Chief Scout Award and Investing two of our Beavers as they moved up to the Cub section. We also welcomed our new Beaver Keira, as she made her promise. Well done to Jack and Reuben who received the Chief Scout Bronze Award this month and have now moved up to Cubs. Congratulations to Themis who has been presented with the Chief Scout Silver Award.👏

OPEN CALL FOR TRUSTEES British Scouting Overseas (BSO) wants to appoint four new trustees, to serve for an initial term of three years, starting in September 2024. Our trustee board provides collective leadership and oversight of the charity, and supports our volunteers, who deliver our programme to young people around the world. Our Scouts team from 1st Abudhabi Scouts - UAE are working to achieve their dragon boating and water activities badges, and we had the pleasure to to run a special Dragon Boating Session as well as race with the amazing "Capital Dragons" team last week. (Abudhabi's First official Dragon boating team operating since 2008) While watching the glorious Abudhabi sunrise, Scouts learned about the power of teamwork and how by only working together as one they will be able to get the boat moving and be able to win the race. We started the session with water safety briefing, learning the main commands used on the boats, history of dragon boat racing in UAE, warm-up exercises and last we discussed the race plan. The Scouts, Leaders and the Capitol Dragon team, were split into 2 teams, and off we went on the water to enjoy the new experience. To end things on a sweet note, the team shared a special breakfast together by the beach after the race. The whole experience was outstanding and we look forward to more exciting activites to come. #britishscoutingoverseas #scouts #dragonboating

They became experts on hiking!🤩 We used our own map which we created during the session to walk towards a small destination where we could practice how to cross over the railway and walked in the cave and touched the natural water. 🍀We also found the spring flowers. So just what exactly is a Moot? It’s an international gathering of 18 to 25 year old Scouts from around the world. Every four years the Moot takes place in a different host country. The next Moot will be hosted by the Portuguese Scout Federation in the Summer of 2025 🇵🇹 Scout Network members will dive into 'Paths', exploring the host country in a patrol made up of Scouts from different nationalities. The second half is ‘Main Camp’; an on-site Jamboree-style camp joining up with all participants to leap into a range of activities and events. Recently our 1st Lanzarote Scouts Cubs and Beavers made bird houses ! The children painted them in different colours and we all made some delicious bird food to go inside. From an interactive story-time about how the Lunar Calendar began to making lanterns, ancient Chinese scrolls, a chopstick challenge relay and receiving Ang Pows (the red envelopes with chocolate coins inside instead of real money!) from a special guest, the Squirrels had a very happy, full meeting! @sonianexplorers have been busy this festive season helping customers pack their purchases at a local supermarket and sometimes, assisting the elderly to carry these to their car. They spread quite a bit of good cheer and the supermarket was happy to have them liven things up! Despite the exam period, our young people shared their time for the good cause with others doing longer hours to help out fellow Explorers. It was a great opportunity to help our community and fundraise for their journeys and other exciting programmes. We rounded off the term ice-skating, a popular choice amongst our Explorers and invested one new member. Many thanks to all and wishing everyone a joyous holiday season and a smashing 2024!

Everyone carried out their duties so well and the DofE Award Silver Team's poem "A Soldier's Elegy" which was written by them in May 2023 was read beautifully by 4 of our Explorers. In 1921, Earl Haig, Commander-in-Chief of the Army during the First World War and founder of the Royal British Legion, adopted the poppy as a symbol of Remembrance. He announced that he wanted 11 November 1921 to be known as Remembrance Day – today we commemorate Remembrance Sunday and Armistice Day. His campaigning was successful. @sonianexplorers were recently on the local news (both on VTM and Ring TV) and one of our Explorers was interviewed about our project! Sonian reached new heights by building a major pioneering project at the Pioneering Camp organised by the Belgian Scouts, with participation from scouts from other countries. The field was extremely muddy but the atmosphere was great, with a great organisation and support team. The competition was tough with many great projects - a Ferris wheel, a complete kitchen, a giant marble run with bowling balls, a waffle iron, a giant statue...

10k, 5k and 3k charity run DownMadrid Foundation Last weekend the Scouts of @1stmadridscouts participated to support the essential work of the foundation. We loved spending the day at the park with all of you!

On the 27th of September, the British Benevolent Fund celebrated 100 years of helping vulnerable British Expats. This fundraising event was held at the British Ambassador to Spain and Andorra Hugh Elliott's official residence in Madrid. @1stmadridscouts and 1st Majadahonda British Scouts were there to help out, by greeting and directing guests, selling raffle tickets and handing out goodie bags at the end. They even sold the Ambassador a raffle ticket. Over €6000 was raised and we received welcomed thank-you from the British Embassy, Madrid expressing how impressed they were with the Scouts helpful attitude and behaviour. #Scouts #SkillsForLife

At Haarlem today, it was Arts, crafts and technology day before the closing ceremony tonight. You can enjoy the closing ceremony live on the @haarlemjamborette website

Today has been visitor's day and the traditional BSO party. We also presented Area Network Commissioner Becca with a Meritorious Conduct Award after she saved the life of a Scout Network member last summer.

Amongst the fun and adventure of our World Jamboree trip to South Korea, we've been delighted to be sharing out unit again with our friends from British Girlguiding Overseas and forming close bonds of friendship during what will be BGO's last World Jamboree.

Today the group went to a Taekwondo show, some of the group were invited onto the stage, then a cultural day and shopping in a mall

Our BSO Haarlem Jamborette contingent hosted the Cheshire Scouts Explorer Belt team this afternoon. They are hiking across Holland and visiting many Dutch Scout Groups. Today they wanted to meet BSO at Haarlem Jamborette. Check out their expedition #EB23_EDAM

Our 3rd camp of the summer is up and running at Haarlem Jamborette with over 100 young people from across BSO camping for the next 2 weeks together. Yesterday they were out exploring with the Triathlon and City hikes. #SKillsForLife
