Module 1 - Essential Information

Essential Information is a mandatory module for nearly all adults in Scouting.  It provides the basic information required for individuals getting started in adult roles in Scouting, vital to ensuring that all young people can enjoy safe Scouting. Topics covered:

    • The Fundamentals of Scouting
    • Structure and support
    • Safety in Scouting
    • Safeguarding- child protection
    • Safeguarding- anti-bullying

These training courses are co-ordinated by the Local Training Manager (LTM) for the District the Scout Group is associated with.

The full list of LTMs is available from the County Directory or the Training Team link in the User Menu (user account required to view).

The following list shows the Modules 1 courses currently organised by the LTM's in their Districts and includes a link to e-mail them directly in the District name.

Some information may be available on the relevant District web/facebook sites (where they exist) and in any case, the LTM should be contacted about the courses being offered as there are often last minute changes to these particular ones.
