I write to let you know that I have decided to stand down as County Commissioner for Suffolk Scouts.
There is nothing untoward in my decision – I have been in role for a couple of years, having had no background in scouting, and, although I have enjoyed much of the experience, the fit is wrong, and I am sure that Suffolk Scouts would be better served by the appointment of a new CC.
Ian Newbury (East of England Regional Commissioner) will launch the search for my successor in September with the aim of making an appointment before the end of this year. In the meantime, I will, of course, remain in post.
If you are interested in taking the role on, do please make contact with me (contact details below) or
Yours faithfully,
Howard Blackett
