‘Develop new skills. Soar to great heights. Being a Cub opens up a whole other world.’
Cubs Scouts are young people aged 8 – 10 ½ years old. This section of the Scouting family is inspired by Rudyard Kipling’s The Jungle Book.
A group of Cub Scouts is called a Pack.
Within the Cub Pack there are smaller groups of cubs called Sixes.
Each Six has a cub leader called a Sixer and a deputy called a Seconder.
Sixers and Seconders help the adult volunteer leaders to run the pack.
Traditionally, the adult leaders are given names from The Jungle Book, the leader in charge is usually called Akela
