Notice: It is with great sadness to report that Gordon Biden passed away on 14th Oct 2024 due to his long-term illlness at the age of 95 and after 77 years of service to Scouting in many roles. He was a Vice President in Suffolk, the Districts of Bury St Edmunds and Royal Kingston and the Great Barton Scout Group.

Known to many as "Mr B", Gordon devoted his life to Scouting and will be very much missed at Great Barton where he did so much to support the group.

Gordon's funeral will be for family & friends and held at the West Suffolk Crematorium on Friday 8th November at 11:00 followed by a Service of Thanksgiving at Wattisfield United Reformed Church at 13:00. Light refreshments to be served after the service. The family request no flowers but donations in memory of Gordon can be made to the East Anglian Air Ambulance (see link).

Funeral Report

08-Nov-2024: Today members from Bury District and Suffolk County paid their respects to Gordon Biden “Mr B” at his funeral and memorial services.

In true “Gordon” style, he had planned the event in detail. He had arranged the services, the hymns and prayers and the service sheets. They were all ready to be printed, all that needed completing was the date!

Gordon had even designed and ordered his own headstone, which has already been installed in the Wattisfield URC Chapel Graveyard. Pictures are attached. Gordon’s daughter told us she has a picture of him, standing by the stone!

My thanks to all who joined me in the “Guard Of Honour” at the crematorium.  R.I.P. Gordon, you will be greatly missed
