I had a fabulous time on Wednesday evening with the 13th Ipswich Scout Group at their successful Royal Navy Recognition Inspection.    The young people were very enthusiastic in performing their various tasks for the inspecting officer, Lt Cdr Karen Cahill.

I enjoyed a kebab prepared on the open fire by the Explorer Scouts and although the evening was very cold, the rain stayed away long enough for the outdoor activities to be completed.  A very impressive rope bridge was erected under the supervision of Chris Webb and everyone had the opportunity to cross it. Well done to Tracy, the Group Chairman, for having a go.

Later in the evening, Chris was presented with his Medal for Merit by Jan, his very proud mother. I was so impressed with the way the Leaders and the Executive Committee worked for the Group. They epitomise what Scouting is all about.
