Compass did launch for a short while at the end of September but subsequent work and activity discovered some data load errors and other related items for Roles/Training records.  It has been off-line since last week-end but is anticipated to be back at the week-end if all things go well.

HQ are posting daily notices about the status of the system at the main www.scouts.org.uk website - Members section.

CurrentOverview:

a) Groups should be putting their young people data together according to the Excel templates available from the Compass User Guides website at http://compassuserguide.scouts.org.uk/.  Note that there needs to be one excel sheet PER SECTION.
b) Instructions for loading the data have yet to be finalised but the Excel data file will be loaded into a temporaray secure holding area and checked/validated before being loaded onto Compass.  OSM users will be able to copy/transfer their relevant data into the correct format from information supplied by OSM to them.
c) invitations to register for Compass log-ins for leaders should be sent out from the 3rd week in October; they are being staggered so the main admin roles can check and get on with the adult admin activities first.
d) A pro-forma information sheet/letter is available from the link below to send to parents/guardians that you can edit as you wish with your own messages (Word format).
