Suffolk County Programme Day For Cubs and Scouts
Monday 5th April 2021 at Hallowtree Campsite, Ipswich
I'm sure, like me, many leaders and young people have missed 'normal' Scouting. Some sections were able to get a little time for face-to-face sessions last year, but many have not met together since March 2020. So, the Suffolk County Programme Team have planned a day of Scouting adventure for Cubs and Scouts in Suffolk.
It is great to hear how Scouting has continued during these extremely difficult and unusual circumstances. But, for many reasons, some packs and troops have not been able to meet online or face-to-face, so the County Programme Day has been planned with these young people in mind, but is open to all Cubs and Scouts.
Why should the young people have all the fun? If there are adult leaders who would also like to attend and help, or lead an activity, please let myself or Angela know.
Currently, there are still some travel restrictions in place, and we must bear this in mind. So, as this day is at Hallowtree, it is possible those in Deben, Orwell and Wolsey districts may be more interested. We are awaiting confirmation of a date at Bradfield Park and hope to hold another day at Herringfleet very soon.
A link to a poster (below) which leaders can send around to the young people they think would like to book into this day. Spaces are limited to 15 young people per group, per session. (Each session 15 cubs, 15 scouts.) To book a place, please can I ask that parents let their Cub and Scout leaders know, who can then email names to
Angela Humphrey, ACC Scouts (for Scout places)
and me (for Cub places)
To start with we will just need the name of young person, contact email address, name of Scout Group and which session they would like to book into. There is no cost for this event.
Closing date for bookings will be Monday 22nd March.
When places are confirmed, forms and more information will be sent out.
If you have any questions, please get in touch.
Thank you for your help and support with this event.
