Do you have great communication skills? Can you motivate teams and individuals? Are you a good listener and want to help Wolsey Scouts become even more successful? Or do you know someone who is?

Well, we are on the hunt for the next District Commissioner for Wolsey Scouts.

 I am asking you if either you might consider taking on this role yourself or if you could think about suggestions for suitable candidates for the role.

The District Commissioner (DC) is a key leadership role in the District to provide management, support, inspiration and coordination to ensure the District runs well, that adults are supported, that young people are safe and that Scouting thrives and grows.

The role of DC may at first look daunting, or you might think it’s not for you – but don’t be put off as there is a great support network available to whoever takes on this role. The District already has strong Groups and scores of committed leaders and of course there is also the County Team who stand ready to support, guide and advise.

Below is a link to the full profile for the District Commissioner role we’re looking to find candidates to fill so please take a look. But in simple terms the following are the key attributes we’re looking for;

- great people management and communication skills

- pragmatic

- inspiring

- a team player

- encouraging, enabling and empowering

Please see below details of the Role Description and Nomination form to either make an application yourself or to nominate someone who you think would make a good DC. The closing date for initial expressions of interest/ nominations is midnight Sunday 23rd January 2022 so don’t delay – please get in touch as soon as you can.

Kind regards

Peter Jarvis
