Scouting News
Nominations are open for the Board of Trustees and we’d like your help spreading the word with your local teams to encourage people to stand.
This year we have five vacancies, each for a three-year term:

  • One for an Elected Youth Member
  • Two from the England North Electoral College
  • One from the England South Electoral College
  • One from the Scotland Electoral College

Following a skills audit of the current Trustees, we’ve identified that we’d benefit from individuals with expertise in the following areas:
Charity Fundraising, Digital and Youth Work. We would also particularly welcome applications from candidates from Black, Asian and minority ethnic backgrounds and disabled candidates, as these groups are under-represented on our Board.

If you know of any member of the Scouts who you think would be agreat member of our Board of Trustees, please help us with encouraging them to submit a nomination. The deadline is Friday 24 June. Each candidate will need a proposer and a seconder, who must be members of the National Council. A list of the roles that are Council members can be found in POR Chapter 6. If you aren’t sure if someone
is a Council member, you can contact the Governance Team at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. and they will be happy to help. More information here.
