I have also linked an activity form. This can be sent out to parents to gain the necessary consent and information required for the day. You will need to add your meeting and collection details, cost and payment details, transport details and your contact details during the event.
Some of you may use OSM for the event. Whichever system you use, please ensure you have parental consent for the day and can access emergency contact details when at Thriftwood, either online or information printed out and carried with you.
As well as the activities Thriftwood are providing there should also be a couple of extra activites/crafts as you go around.
Please let me know:
- Number of cubs and leaders attending.
- How you will be arriving (car/coach), a rough time of your arrival.
- Anything else you think I should be aware of to help you and the cubs enjoy your day.
Payment should be made to:
Sort Code: 20-98-07
Acc No: 83410854 - SUFFOLK COUNTY SCOUT COUNCIL
Please use your Group or pack name as a reference.
Next year will be the 110th Anniversary for Cub Scouts. Attached to this email are details of a competition for cubs to design a badge to celebrate the anniversary. Entries need to be with me by 12th October. These can be posted, scanned and emailed, or given to me at Thriftwood.
Suffolk Punch, our camp for Scouts and Explorers, will take place in August 2026. There will be activity days for Cubs on Friday 21st and Sunday 23rd August. (Saturday 22nd August will be an activity day for Squirrels and Beavers.) These activity days will be celebrating the anniversaries for all three younger sections. Please start discussions in your pack / district about attending one of the days. I realise the Sunday is probably more convenient for most people but we will not be able to accommodate all cubs on that day.
This year I've attended a few district cub events around the county. Please let me know dates and details of your district cub events this coming year. I would love to visit, see what's going on and meet the cubs and leaders.
Events taking place next year that you may wish to look into and attend:
- Cubjam at Phasels Wood, 23 - 29thMay 2026
- Fun Days at Gilwell Park, 13th & 14th June 2026
I hope you all have a great start to the new term. If I can help in anyway, or you just want a chat or catchup, get in touch.(emial link on name below)
Yours in Scouting,
County Programme Team
