Set in over 26 acres / 10.5 hectares of Suffolk countryside, Bradfield Park Scout Campsite is open for camping and leisure activities for Scouting and Youth Organisations . Situated just off the A134 at Bradfield Combust, between Bury St Edmunds and Sudbury, Suffolk, the park offers the choice of outdoor camping, indoor accommodation and activities all year round.
Camping at Bradfield Park Campsite is suitable for Scouts, Guides and other youth organisations, with water taps at each camping pitch throughout the site. Cooking is by your own gas burners or altar fires, which are available on site. A plentiful supply of wood is available through campsite and also from firewood / pallets area within the main compound.
External Toilet / Shower Block adjacent to Lunney Lodge is for use by all campers on site. It has two showers five unisex toilets which includes one disabled toilet. Behind toilet / shower block are four stainless steel double drainer sinks which are great for D of E campers
Site Accommodation Buildings are Lunney Lodge and Constable Cabin.
Lunney Lodge is heated and has a fully equipped kitchen with gas cooker / oven, crockery, cutlery, cooking utensils, fridge-freezer, chest freezer, microwave, toasters, electric water urn etc suitable for a group of around 25 persons. Also available are toilets, wet rooms, tables and chairs and full use of the main campsite.
We have an internal flagpole inside the main hall. Each person will need to bring their own equipment including sleeping bag and food. There is sleeping on bunk beds with mattresses for 16 people with a separate room for Leaders. There is also the opportunity for groups to camp out traditionally, whilst using the accommodation building for dining and eating. Lunney Lodge has its own carpark for thirty vehicles.I f you use external electrical sockets you will be charged current £ charge.
Constable Cabin
Constable Cabin contains a hall, kitchen and disabled toilet / shower. There is no sleeping accommodation. Externally to Constable Cabin we have two toilet blocks male / female and one shower block male/ female
The hall is fitted with tables and chairs. The kitchen is fitted with electric cooker / oven, fridge-freezer, electric water urn, cooking utensils, crockery, cutlery etc.
We have an internal flagpole inside the main hall.
Electricity and heating is included in the hire cost. If you use external electrical sockets you will be charged current £ charge.
Note: If you book a building only for cooking, eating or wet weather base then we will allocate a pitch(s) close to the building for camping.
We have a non-smoking policy to the building, the designated smoking area is Constable Cabin car park.
We have a recycling bin in the kitchen and we have a large blue recycling bin and bottle bank at the second field gate. Please, if you can take your rubbish home.
The car park to Constable Cabin can take 100 cars which includes a bus / mini bus parking space
Activities
A range of activities may be hired and some of which are free, all of which can be seen on the website. They include archery, air rifles, pedal go-karts, pioneering poles, traversing wall, assault course, cave simulator, Cresta run ( wheeled grass sledges on a wooden track ), tomahawk / axe range, climbing wall, football pitch with goals, GaGa Ball ( Dodge Ball ) arena, tyre swings throughout site, wheel barrow racing, tug of war, water carrier game, tyre stacking game, den building. The site also has one campfire circle surrounded by benches.
