I have just checked my diary entries for September and October and find that it seems to have been fairly quiet.  At the beginning of September I spent the weekend at Gilwell for the Annual Re-union .   Over 2000 Leaders attended this year and were able to camp, to see and participate in some new programme ideas, attend talks and discussion groups on a number of topics and attend the two, or was it four dances and discos.  The ABBA Girls performed on the Saturday night and ABBA-costumed peopled filled the dancefloor for a mass nostalgic party.  It was awsome!  Why not try it next year?

I was back at Gilwell later in the week with our County Chairman designate, Peter Jones.  He was given a thorough introduction to the organisation of Scouting at its heart and was most impressed.  Into London for the National AGM on Saturday with our Young Person representative, Niall Pettit.

On the next weekend I attended Bury St Edmund District's Party in the Park in the Abbey Gardens.  Everyone had an excellent time and the weather was very kind.   I won't mention the Leader's egg and spoon race!.

On the following Monday I attended the Norfolk AGM in  Dereham.  A very good turnout and lots of enthusiasm.  It is always useful to maintain good relations with our neighbours.

Annual Meare Day was great fun as always, lots of messing about on the river! or should I say Meare. The Sudbury District Beaver Cub 25th Birthday Party was exceptional with so many bases for the Beavers to try, and with probably the biggest birthday cake ever.

The County AGM on Thursday 29th September, was well attended and Steve Peck Director of Programme and Development at Gilwell kept us all entertained..

As some of you know my other hobby is Amateur Dramatics and I have just finished a play which one of my ex-Cubs wrote and directed. How proud was I!!

Take care and remember Scouting is FUN so make sure you have some.
