Another busy week started on Monday with the Stowmarket District AGM. On Tuesday I attended Lowestoft's District AGM, when District Commissioner Peter Jarvis handed over the reigns to Tony Hawksworth. Peter has given ten years’ outstanding service to Lowestoft.  On Wednesday, it was Sudbury’s turn and this concluded the Disrict AGMs for this year.

What a fantastic weekend I’ve just had.
On Saturday morning I briefly popped into Hallowtree where the Orwell Beavers were having their sleepover.  They were having lots of fun and Karen Butcher, ADC Beaver Scouts, said she was expecting over 70 more Beavers to join in the Olympics in the afternoon.  I just had time to say hello to the 8th Felixstowe cubs before heading to 14th Lowestoft for their 75th Anniversary celebrations. The Group has a museum and I could have spent a whole weekend looking at the memorabilia.  David White and his Leaders put on a wonderful afternoon. There were ex-members, lots of parents and a 90-year-old who was one of the first Scouts when the Group started in 1937.  It was a fitting tribute to the present Leaders that so may turned up to help celebrate the Group’s success. I had a super time – and the cake was delicious.

On the way home I called at Ramsholt for the Wet Weekend. They had all come off the water and were busy preparing supper. The Scouts said they had had a super day.

On Sunday I called at Hallowtree to see the County Cub Leadership Challenge. There was lots of good stuff going on there. Well done to Toby Walton (Akela, 1st Southwold) for organising the event.  What a fabulous set of Leaders we have in Suffolk!
