I had a great day on Saturday. The Orwell District Beavers were having their annual sleepover at Hallowtree and as usual Karen Butcher and her team were weaving their magic. Martin Agar was also doing a bit of magic with dried ice. There are photos..!

Lots of Groups were camping at Hallowtree and it was great to
say hello to old friends.

The 32nd Ipswich cubs were in Raven Hut. This was the second time in a week that I been with the Group; on Wednesday I was privileged to present Gold awards to two Scouts. I'm not sure who was most proud the lads or their Leader, John Block.
The 6th Ipswich Cubs were on Rabbit Hill. Brian was left in charge of the fire while the cubs were on a hike. 5th Ipswich Cubs were just off for a hike and the 14th Lowestoft Scouts had just returned; lots of hiking taking place. The wind was so strong that David White (GSL) was left in charge of making sure the dining shelters stayed pegged down. Needless to say, while we were having a cup of tea and reminiscing the wind caught one of them!
I missed 1st Martlesham as they had gone to the Transport Museum in Ipswich. I had a peep in the new Warden's accommodation, very nice it is too.

I made a flying visit to Boxford to call in on 13th Ipswich Cubs who were preparing for their Campfire.

I know that there were many more events and Groups camping this weekend giving such good Scouting to girls and boys of all ages. Thank you Leaders for giving up your time.

Deben, Wolsey and Sudbury District AGM s were well attended. I enjoyed catching up with the Leaders.

Finally, don't forget about the Moot. If you haven't already booked your place, why not do it now? (http://www.moot2013.org.uk/).  It should be an exciting time for everyone. Remember that it only comes round every four years.

Happy Scouting
Jenny
