I've seen some super Scouting again these past few weeks.
I attended Lowestoft District's AGM a couple of weeks ago. District Commissioner Mel Buck and Chairman Brian Everett ran a super meeting. Tony Hawksworth would have been very proud to see so many leaders supporting the District.
Other AGMs I attended were Stour Valley, 1st Eye and my old Group 1st Shotley. Lots of presentations and awards for the youngsters.

Last Saturday I popped into Hallowtree where the Rotary Club were entertaining young carers from all over Suffolk. The Explorer Scouts from Clare were doing a super job looking after the young carers, escorting them to and from the activities. This was a fine example of our promise in action.

It was good to catch up with Leaders I hadn't seen for a while. 1st Needham Market with GSL Sam Rolands were having a Group camp; 1st Ipswich were in the Wendy Hut and Great Barton were there with their Scouts. Gordon Biden, one of our County Vice Presidents, was camping with them - proof if any was needed that Scouting keeps you young. Gordon will be 84 next week - Happy Birthday, Gordon!

On to Stowmarket Carnival where Stowmarket District were manning the Headquarters Mobile Display Unit. It is always good to see the Unit used. It does look very impressive.

I know lots of you still have your Summer Camps to come. The CMAT team along with Explorer Scouts and Scouts are off to Kandersteg; 2nd Haverhill Scouts are off to Holland; 11th Ipswich are off to the Lake District; 1st Capel are going to North Wales and Clare Explorers are off to the Hebrides. These are just some that I know of.... Of course, there is the MOOT at the end of August.

Whatever you are doing have a super time!
