Hallowtree Activity Centre and Suffolk CMAT are running a training course for new instructors on artificial climbing walls and towers. The course is designed for novice instructors to be trained and to gain a climbing and abseiling permit under the P.O.R Adventurous Activities Permit Scheme.

The initial training will commence on Friday 5th April 6pm - 10pm (Theory) then Sunday 7th April 9am - 5pm (Practical) (dates corrected from e-mail). This will provide the basic skills to then develop over a six to eight week period to prepare for assessment and to complete the permits.

The course is for over 18's who hold a warranted position within a group or district. Previous experience of climbing and abseiling is preferred but not essential. All applicants must be physically fit and be able to make both initial training sessions.

Please send your expression of interest to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it., by the 29th March and include a brief on your current experience, group, position and confirm if you are available for both of the March dates above. Expressions of interest can still be sent if you are not available for the April dates and, with sufficient demand, other dates will be made available.

Thank you
