Hello Suffolk Cub Leaders!
Hopefully you are already aware that next year there will be a camp for all cubs in Suffolk. This is the first county cub camp for many years and I am looking forward to welcoming cubs and leaders from across Suffolk to a weekend of sharing together.
Camp Ohana
Friday 3rd - Monday 6th May 2024
Hallowtree Scout Activity Centre, Alnesbourne Priory, Nacton, Ipswich, IP10 0JP
Our theme is Disney. I hope this will capture everyone's imagination and we will have a campsite full of Disney heroes, villains, Mickeys and Minnies. If you're not sure about the name of our camp check out a quote from the film ‘Lilo and Stitch’!
An exciting programme of activities is being planned.
Daytime activities will include archery, rifle shooting, climbing, abseiling, crate stacking, tomahawks, bushcraft, craft, science activities and much more.
For the evening you can join in with bingo, watch a film, bring along a board game to share, sing around the campfire, watch the stars, show off your talent or dance the night away.
Cost for the camp:
Cubs £50
Adult leaders and young leaders £12
(There will be no central catering so packs will need to add the cost of food when informing cub families about the camp.)
Each district will camp together in a sub-camp, with their ADC Cubs, or designated person, as sub-camp leader. Therefore, we are encouraging packs to plan together within their districts. Hopefully packs will be able to help each other by sharing equipment and possibly cooking meals together. Also, packs that do not have leaders with a Nights Away Permit will still be able to attend by camping alongside a leader who has a NA permit.
I would like to have a deposit of £10 per person by 3rd February 2024 with the balance paid by 22nd March. Details of how to pay this will be sent out soon. If the cost is a barrier, stopping anyone from attending camp please reach out to your District ADC Cub leader, District Commissioner or myself.
